About me
I trained in voice at Montclair State and sing in the ensemble at regional theaters, including a few seasons at the Paper Mill Playhouse. Between shows I teach, and over the last few years most of my students have been adults in their seventies and eighties who want to sing again or finally learn the keyboard.
My lessons are relaxed and very song first. We warm up the voice with easy humming, then work on a tune you love, from Rodgers and Hammerstein to the Everly Brothers. If you want to play along, I teach simple left hand chords so you can play along as you sing. I bring a portable keyboard if you do not have one, and I print lyrics in big type.
I grew up in Pennsylvania and moved to Verona three years ago with my partner. I sing in a church choir in Glen Ridge on Sundays and I am slowly working my way through every bagel shop in Essex County.
