About me

I studied exercise science at Rutgers and spent my first two years out of school coaching small group classes at a gym on Millburn Avenue. The members I liked working with most were the ones in their seventies who showed up every Tuesday at 9 and never skipped leg day.

That is where I learned to slow down. I count every rep out loud, I demonstrate each move twice, and I write the routine on an index card so you can do it on your own between visits. Most of my clients start with sit-to-stands from a dining chair and a light resistance band. Within a month they usually notice the stairs feel easier, and that is the goal.

I grew up in Millburn and still walk the loop at South Mountain Reservation most Sunday mornings with my mom. If you see someone in a bright orange fleece stretching by the Locust Grove lot, that is probably me.

What a first visit looks like

  1. 1

    Minute 0 to 10

We sit down and talk through what feels hard right now, like stairs, getting out of the car, or carrying groceries.

  2. 2

    Minute 10 to 20

Gentle warm-up in the chair: ankle circles, shoulder rolls, and marching in place to loosen up.

  3. 3

    Minute 20 to 40

We try four basic moves, sit-to-stands, wall push-ups, band rows and heel raises, and I adjust each one to fit you.

  4. 4

    Minute 40 to 50

A short standing balance practice with the chair right beside you for support.

  5. 5

    Minute 50 to 60

I write your take-home routine on an index card and we pick a good day and time for next week.
